Company Background:
TransWorld Network, Corp is a communication services company deploying in rural areas across the United States. We partner with rural power companies (REMCs) to deliver services to their members. We currently are in the process of building out fixed wireless broadband solutions with a number of our partners and we are looking for individuals who can join our growing team and provide valuable experience and expertise.
Job Overview:
We are currently seeking a candidate with significant knowledge and experience with both the technical and functional aspects of broadband wireless networks and network design. This position requires expertise in RF Engineering, radio propagation, and IP networking.
Site visits (travel) will be required and this candidate must be able to work under limited supervision with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgement.
The Wireless Design Engineer will have the ability to analyze and design new wireless deployments including site visits, location design, base station type, tower equipment, propagation plots and RF analysis.
The Wireless Design Engineer position joins the broadband deployment team for effective and efficient roll-outs of wireless broadband.
Responsibilities:
- Site design for new sites including site visits, site design of location, base station type, tower equipment, propagation plots and RF analysis
- Must be able to design sites that meet the coverage objective
- Involves working closely with other deployment team members including site acquisition, zoning, and construction
- Identify and justify site selection and acquisition
- Engineer RF design (coverage, capacity, frequency planning and interference), budget analysis and coordinate and review site integration process
Skills Required:
- The Wireless Design Engineer requires a strong understanding of the details surrounding Radio Frequency (RF) network design, capacity planning and optimization activities of wireless network builds
- The candidate must have the ability to determine optimal placement of base stations based on factors relating to existing infrastructure, zoning restrictions, regulatory related issues, RF interference coverage footprint and capacity management
- Good knowledge of IP protocols suite is required
- Ability to communicate ideas and instructions clearly and concisely
- Organizational skills
Education and/or Experience Required:
The ideal candidate would have an electrical or electronics engineering or other technical degree, a bachelor's degree is preferred, however an associate's degree or military experience will also be considered along with 5 years experience working in the field of RF design, preferrably in unlicensed wireless broadband.
