TransWorld Network, Corp is a communication services company deploying in rural areas across the United States. We partner with rural power companies (REMCs) to deliver services to their members. We currently are in the process of building out fixed wireless broadband solutions with a number of our partners and we are looking for individuals who can join our growing team and provide valuable experience and expertise.
Job Overview:
TransWorld Network, Corp. is currently seeking several self-motivated, multi-tasking individuals to fill an immediate opening for Field Service Technician. This position is an integral part of the organization and is responsible for the installation, commissioning, operation, and maintenance of Broadband Wireless Site equipment, office servers and networks in assigned market(s). The Field Technician position joins the Product Operations team for effective and efficient roll-out and support of wireless broadband networks and would report into the Manager of Field Operations.
Currently, there are positions open in the following locations:
- Western Indiana
- Rockville, Indiana
- Southern Arizona
- Sierra Vista, Arizona
Responsibilities:
- Perform installation, maintenance, trouble isolation and repair of broadband fixed wireless equipment (radios, antennae, surge suppressors, cabling)
- Install, configure and troubleshoot various customer premise equipment
- Install various categories of inside wiring and proper terminations such as jacks, cross connections, etc.
- Perform installation of network interface cards and network incorporation
- Perform testing of circuits using sidekick meter and various other testing produres/equipment
- RF analysis of service areas
- IP Network Design and implementation
- Inspection and delivery of Fixed Wireless equipment
- Client training on the use of Fixed Wireless applications/equipment
- Record keeping of equipment inventoried/installed
- Follow up with client to verify Wireless Hardware/Software operations
- Diagnosis and resolution of Wireless problems via remote means and site visits
- Internal follow-up regarding Trouble Tickets and resolution
- Provide Level III telephone and email support to clients and company
- Job site safety and responsibility
- Exercise a high level of initiative, tact and integrity, including establishing a good working relationship with all work colleagues at every level
Skills Required:
- Field service technical experience in the telecommunications/wireless industry, including knowledge and experience in radio/antanae installations
- Experience working and installing Wireless Internet Hardware/Software
- Knowledge of RF design principles with a concentration on Internet applications
- Troubleshoot ground loops and RF interference
- PC, Peripherals, and Internet knowledge
- Working knowledge of routers and ethernet switching equipment
- Ability to be remotely Managed and supported
- Proficiency with Spectrum Analyzer would be an asset
- Knowledge of common electrical safety procedures
- Working knowledge of basic networking LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, DNS, etc.
- Excellent communication/customer service skills
- Must be able to maintain an inventory and a weekely timesheet and log of work performed
- MUST have a valid Driver's License and satisfactory driving record.
Education and/or Experience Required:
Associates degree preferred but not required.
2+ years experience with telecommunications/wireless field service.
